Fur & Feather Stand Together
Fur & Feather Stand Together is the tale of two unlikely friends and their quest to save the world's winter. When Penny the puffin follows a crack in the arctic permafrost to find Nook the polar bear stranded on a slab of ice, she knows something has to be done. Together, with the help of puffins, sloths, baboons, loons, and whales alike, Nook and Penny find a way to reach out to animals and people across the globe, and make the case that changing the weather means we have to come together.
I teamed up with RogueMark Studios and author and educator, David Griswold, to create the visuals to bring this important story about climate change activism to life.
Penny the Puffin
Initially Penny was going to be a Penguin, but after some research (and consulting some brilliant biologists) we learned that penguins don’t live in the north pole! So Penny the Puffin was born.
Nook the Polar Bear
When designing the character “Nook” I wanted to capture his friendly and innocent nature. I explored different shape languages to find the best solution to embody his sweet personality.
After designing the main characters, I explored them in motion with this simple test animation.
